Akikazu Harada
Art as a structure where prayer manifests within the cosmic cycle.
Concept
MUSUHI
Before they are perceived, all things exist as nameless fluctuations drifting through the cosmos.
Pulse.
Connection.
Resonance.
Between the invisible patterns woven by quantum movement and the material world lies a field of continuous becoming—a primordial structure where all existence is interconnected beyond the boundaries of time and space.
My work explores this hidden order: the subtle relationships, echoes, and flows that shape reality beneath the surface of perception.
Rooted in a distinctly Japanese sensibility while engaging with contemporary thought, each line becomes both observation and invocation—a gesture toward harmony, circulation, and the unseen forces that bind all things together.
Through these works, I seek not to depict the world, but to reveal the sacred structures that quietly sustain it.
AKATSUKI
profile
(b. 1986, Toyohashi, Japan) is a contemporary artist based in Nagoya, Japan.
Trained in painting from an early age, Harada developed a deep sensitivity to form, movement, and perception through both artistic practice and years of martial arts training. His subsequent study of bodywork and human anatomy further shaped his interest in the invisible systems that organize living existence.
Drawing from Japanese spiritual traditions, contemporary thought, and concepts of interconnectedness, Harada explores the hidden structures that underlie reality. His work investigates the relationships between flow, fluctuation, resonance, and form—seeking to visualize forces that exist beyond ordinary perception.
Initially known for works inspired by the dragon as a symbol of movement and transformation, his practice has evolved toward a unique visual language of abstract structural compositions. Through intricate networks of lines, layered spatial relationships, and symbolic architectures, he examines the threshold between material presence and the unseen dimensions of experience.
Harada's works have been presented through exhibitions, live painting performances, and ceremonial offerings to shrines and temples. His ongoing practice seeks to make visible the subtle structures that connect all things, bridging ancient Japanese sensibilities with contemporary artistic inquiry.
